Who We Are

Team 6120: The CyberStangs are a FIRST Robotics Competition team out of Merritt Academy in New Haven, Michigan.

The team was founded in 2016 by Head Mentor John Barber, who taught at Merritt. Now, at the end of the 2025 season, the team has 12 student members in grades 8-12 from various schools in Macomb County and 6 mentors hailing from various professions in STEM related industries.

Milford District Event: Ranked: 6th of 39 teams, Captain of 4th Alliance Record: 12-5-0 Finished: Eliminated in Semifinals

Macomb District Event: Ranked: 17th of 39 teams, 1st Pick 5th Alliance Record: 9-8-0 Finished: Finalists Awards: Quality Award

FIRST in Michigan State Championship - Hemlock Semiconductor Division: Ranked: 30th out of 40 teams Record: 4-8-0

Drive: “Swerve” Drive - SDS MK4 & Kraken Motors

Capabilities: Coral Station intake system, placing “Coral” on to all “Levels” of the “Reef”, utilizing April Tags to line up placement, In-Robot “Deep Cage” climber, and a detachable “Algae” intake and “Processor” scorer.
